Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds To Travel To Wales Amid ‘It Ends With Us’ Lawsuits

Celebrity couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds missed this year’s Oscars, instead taking a trip to Wales.

The couple has been shying away from the spotlight, likely because of the Gossip Girl star’s trial against It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. The 2026 Academy Awards were no exception. This is the second year Lively and Reynolds skipped the awards, attending court-mandated hearings in New York City in their stead.

Instead of traveling to Los Angeles, the couple visited Wales. They attended the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round match, cheering for Wrexham and Chelsea.

Southwest of Great Britain, Wales is renowned for its rugged coastlines and sea escapes. The capital, Cardiff, is popular for its nightlife and celebration of Celtic culture. Visitors can explore many of Wales’ medieval castles, such as Conway Castle or Caernarfon Castle. Wales also has tons of natural scenery. Travelers can hike to the highest point in Snowdonia National Park or observe puffin colonies and seals in Skomer Island.

In last year’s Academy Awards, Reynolds’s film Deadpool & Wolverine was not nominated for an Oscar. This year, neither Lively nor Reynolds received recognition. Although they have gone to other awards ceremonies together, such as the Golden Globes, they have yet to attend the Oscars.

The Lively-Baldoni case is set for May, two years after the difficult It Ends With Us tour, when a rumored fight between Lively and Baldoni went viral. Filed by Lively in December 2024, the case will address sexual harassment and smear campaign claims.

Lively had her breakthrough in 2005, starring in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and its sequel. She later became internationally recognized for her role as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl. In 2024, she played the lead role in It Ends With Us opposite Baldoni. However, the project resulted in controversy and lawsuits, with both Lively and Baldoni suing each other for defamation.
