Helsinki Airport Debuts First Ever Runway Sauna

Helsinki Airport, located in Vantaa, Finland, has further embraced Finnish culture by placing a sauna on the airport runway.

With over 3.2 million saunas located in Finland alone, Finavia decided to add a few more to the Helsinki Airport. Being the main international airport in Helsinki, with around 50,000 passengers per day, the Helsinki-Vantaa airport was the perfect place to include runway saunas. The recent press release from Finavia stated, “Helsinki Airport has been selected as the best airport in Europe seven times within the past eight years. More than a transition, it is a melting pot of diversity and a gateway to Finnish design and local values of trust and equity.”

“Most airports have transit zones – some even have saunas. But only Helsinki Airport can offer a transit to Finnish happiness.
