Love Island star Arabella Chi is continuing her daily routine in Dubai despite “rising panic” among expats’ worries about fleeing the Gulf state.
The reality TV star moved to the United Arab Emirates last year, initially afraid of the missile strikes in her region. In a previous Instagram post, she shared her plans to “hide her family in a storage cupboard,” creating a makeshift shelter after clearing it out.
However, Chi returned to regular influencer content. She recently posted pictures of romantic nights with her boyfriend, Billy Henty, and photos of her daughter, Gigi.
This week, Chi shared a carousel of photos on Instagram of herself and Gigi at the beach. Clad in a white bikini, she captioned the series of photos, “Sandy toes.” However, she did not mention any unrest or worry in her city.
Chi is considered a popular figure who continues to present Dubai in a positive light, especially after the US-Israel war against Iran created chaos in the UAE. But recently, many other influencers’ beliefs shifted as the area became involved in a second attack.
The UAE claimed that Iran has sent 238 missiles into the region since the US-Israel war began – 221 were intercepted, with only two reaching their destination. However, Iran also utilized their “suicide drones” to launch attacks on the UAE.
Many other alarming incidents have occurred in Dubai. For example, a night drone attack killed one man and left two skyscrapers in flames last Saturday. In addition, smoke was seen coming from the 23 Marina tower, a result of being hit by debris from an Iranian drone. Dubai International Airport was also closed on Saturday because of a suspected drone strike.
Other influencers share worries about the recent attacks on Dubai. Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison and her husband, Ercan Ramadan, shared an update regarding their attempt to flee the city. The couple initially planned to fly to Australia or New Zealand, but abandoned those plans due to recent events, wanting to reunite with their dogs, Milo and Max.
“We’re so sorry for our radio silence over the last week. With everything unfolding the way it was and changing so rapidly, we desperately didn’t want to say anything insensitive or hyperbolic that would add to the rising panic around the situation.”
“We really appreciate all your messages of concern and just wanted to reassure everyone that we’re fine. After 3 cancelled flights and the realization that we definitely weren’t going to make it onto Australia and New Zealand, we wanted to try and get home as quickly and safely as possible.”
“I understand that there are a lot of people still in Dubai feeling really calm and safe; however, we wanted to be back to our babies, work and normality and we felt like Oman was our best option.”
