Dutch Olympic Speedskater Jutta Leerdam Label ‘A Diva’ By Teammates For Traveling By Private Jet To Milan
Olympic skater and fiancée of Jake Paul, Jutta Leerdam, has been labeled a “diva” after her decision to travel to the Winter Olympics in Milan.
The speed skater took to Instagram to post about her private flight to Milan-Cortina. Leerdam was greeted with flags and received homemade cupcakes with supportive messages.
Jake Paul also commented on her post, “Time to shine.”
After her arrival, the skater took a separate car with her friends to the Olympic athletes’ village, where she took selfies in front of the iconic rings.
Leerdam’s lifestyle seems glamorous; however, many sports fans back home in the Netherlands have criticized the 27-year-old. For example, former Dutch soccer player Johan Derksen said, “She should want it of her own accord. She’s already living like a millionaire, with private jets and everything.”
“Her behavior is horrible to me, like that of a diva. If I were her coach, I wouldn’t tolerate that.”
“Gradually, the whole of the Netherlands is starting to get a bit fed up with her behavior.”
Sports analyst Valentijin Driessen also shared that the speed skater’s picture has been used everywhere to support the games. “Everywhere along the highway you see: “Support Jutta, support Jutta. I think she’s the only Dutch representative for the entire Olympic Games.”
In addition, fans speculate that her spotlight is derived from her relationship with professional boxer and influencer Paul. But her popularity truly stems from her own success as a speed skater. Not only did she win World Championship titles, but Leerdam also placed silver at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
Despite the current controversy, she has been named the “world’s hottest speed skater” by the Dutch media, with almost five million Instagram followers.
