April, an excellent month to travel due to the excellent weather, is a spring break haven. While visitors may have needed to put on a sweater to stay comfortable during chilly March evenings, April is noticeably warmer. It’s truly spring and flowers begin to dot the lush green hills. Keep in mind that because of the spring breakers, it may not be the best time for families or guests who are looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation.
May is the best month to visit Hawaii because of the combination of good weather and great rates. The sea temperature rises and the waters begin to calm. There is still a bit of a swell, though allowing for some good surfing for beginners to the advanced.
Fly to Hawaii in September to escape the crowds. The weather will still be great and the beaches will be less crowded with summer ending and school going back into session. The seas are calmer around this time, making it a wonderful month to enjoy the reefs and marine life.
October is another great month to travel to Hawaii because of the dropping prices. There is still good weather left to be experienced in October with temperatures remaining in the high 80s and rain showers occurring mostly at night. The ocean is also the warmest in September and October. October is a great month to experience the Hawaiian culture as many events, such as the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival, Coconut Festival and the Maui Fair are held.
Avoid traveling to Hawaii in December. The weather is bad and the holiday travelers flock to the beaches. The high amount of traffic also causes a spike in plane ticket and accommodation costs. Though December is known as a bad time to visit, the first month of the year is a different story. January doesn’t normally make the list of the best times to visit Hawaii due to the rainy season, but it is the perfect month to travel to Hawaii for nature lovers hoping to whale watch. The ocean also swells from January to March making it a prime spot for advanced surfers looking for big waves.
