Jordyn Woods & Karl-Anthony Towns Share Glimpse Of Three-Country African Safari Honeymoon
Jordyn Woods and New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns are giving fans a look at how they spent the weeks after their wedding: on an East African honeymoon that spanned three destinations and a packed list of once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
The couple married on August 15 in an oceanfront ceremony in Malibu, California, then headed almost immediately to Africa during Towns’ NBA offseason. Woods posted a video montage titled “Dreaming in Africa” on Instagram, documenting the trip. When followers asked exactly where the footage was filmed, Woods clarified in the comments: “Yes, I said, Africa! But we were in Nairobi, Tanzania, and Zanzibar!”
The footage traced an itinerary built around wildlife and scenery: safari game drives with zebras, elephants, and leopards roaming nearby; a sunset hot air balloon ride; snorkeling and a boat outing to take in marine life; a bonfire and private dinner on the beach; and, according to some accounts of the trip, a sound bath session.
Throughout the video, Towns broke into song while Woods danced her way across the savanna and the beach, giving the montage a lighter, playful tone alongside its more romantic moments. In one clip, the couple wore matching olive-green outfits against the backdrop of the Tanzanian grasslands.
Woods paired the video with a reflective caption: “A dream I didn’t know how to put into words, lived out in the wild with the love of my life. Africa, you were beyond anything I could have imagined. Our honeymoon felt like walking through a dream I never wanted to wake up from.”
Towns replied to the post simply: “Mrs. Woods-Towns.”
The honeymoon reveal continued into a second wave of posts. On September 8, Woods shared “honeymoon pt. 2,” which included a photo of her in a sheer white, sequin-covered dress taken on a Zanzibar beach along the Indian Ocean — one of several looks from what fans have described as a carefully curated honeymoon wardrobe.
From Malibu to the Serengeti
The safari trip capped off a summer of celebrations for the couple, who have been linked romantically since 2020. Their Malibu wedding drew an A-list guest list that included Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller and several of Towns’ Knicks teammates, among them Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and OG Anunoby. Woods wore a custom Danielle Frankel gown for the ceremony, while Towns wore a custom black Ralph Lauren suit.
Before the Malibu ceremony, the pair also held a smaller civil wedding at the Santa Barbara courthouse. For that event, Towns wore a khaki-colored version of his tailored Ralph Lauren look, and Woods opted for a white silk crepe jacket and matching ankle-length pencil skirt, finished with an oversized white hat.
With the wedding festivities and the honeymoon both behind them, Woods and Towns now head into a new chapter as a married couple — one that, for now, trades the red carpet and the basketball court for the memories of a trip Woods says exceeded anything she could have imagined.
