Boris Becker Soaks Up the Sicilian Sun On Tennis-Filled Family Getaway With Wife Lilian & Baby Zoë
Tennis legend Boris Becker is stretching summer into October, sharing a glimpse of a sun-drenched family holiday in Sicily with his wife, Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, and their baby daughter, Zoë.
The former world No. 1, 58, posted a series of photos from the trip to social media on Wednesday. They showed the family making the most of the Mediterranean island’s warm autumn weather with time on the water, at the beach and, fittingly, on the tennis court.
Sicily Fall Travel
The getaway had a distinctly nautical feel. Several snapshots showed Becker and Monteiro, 36, relaxing aboard a boat under clear skies, while others captured the couple at the beach and in the sea.
But Becker didn’t leave his racket at home. The trip doubled as a tennis-themed escape, with the six-time Grand Slam champion pictured on court during the stay. Other photos showed the family unwinding at their resort and exploring the surrounding area.
In his caption, Becker summed up the holiday as a mix of tennis, Sicilian sunshine and precious time with family. He also thanked the resort where they stayed, saying it is always a pleasure to share his love of the game in such a setting.
Sicily has long been a favorite of European travelers looking to extend the beach season, with temperatures often staying mild well into the fall.
Monteiro’s bikini photos quickly drew attention from Becker’s followers, according to the Austrian outlet Heute. Many fans marveled that she had given birth less than a year earlier, with one calling her simply “amazing.”
Zoë will celebrate her first birthday next month. The couple welcomed Zoë Vittoria Becker on Nov. 21, 2025, one day before her father’s 58th birthday.
Becker and Monteiro have made it a habit to share their travels. Before Zoë’s arrival, the couple posted photos from a weekend at a luxury hotel in Portofino, Italy, where Monteiro showed off her baby bump.
Italy holds special meaning for the pair. They married in Portofino on Sept. 14, 2024, after meeting through friends in 2018. The couple has also traveled to Monteiro’s family home in São Tomé and Príncipe, where they spent Christmas boating and hiking.
Becker has credited Monteiro with standing by him during the most difficult chapter of his life. In 2022, he was convicted in the U.K. of hiding assets after declaring bankruptcy and was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. He served about eight months before being released and deported to Germany.
He has said the pair knew early on that they wanted a family together, explaining that because Monteiro is much younger, it would have been unfair not to give her the chance to become a mother.
Zoë is Becker’s fifth child. The three-time Wimbledon champion, who coached Novak Djokovic from 2013 to 2016, also shares three sons with his ex-wives and a daughter, Anna, with model Angela Ermakova.
