Kim Kardashian took her East Asian family on vacation to one of the world’s most famous landmarks, sharing photos from a visit to the Great Wall of China in a vintage gown with a traditional-inspired print.

The 45-year-old reality star and SKIMS founder posted a carousel of images to Instagram from the outing, joined by her mother, Kris Jenner, 70, and sister Khloé Kardashian, 42.

For the sightseeing trip, Kim chose a floor-length, halter-neck dress featuring an intricate East Asian-inspired pattern in deep blues and earthy tones set against dark navy. The gown is an archival piece from Yves Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 2004 collection, designed by Tom Ford during his tenure at the French fashion house, and features a dragon and cloud tapestry print.

Jenner wore a look reminiscent of a cheongsam, the form-fitting, one-piece Chinese dress, in a blue-and-orange floral design. Khloé opted for a knee-length black dress and white sneakers.

Three of Jenner’s grandchildren also came along: Kim’s daughter Chicago West, 8, whom she shares with ex-husband Kanye West; Khloé’s daughter True Thompson, 8, whom she shares with ex Tristan Thompson; and Dream Kardashian, 9, the daughter of Rob Kardashian and his ex-fiancée Blac Chyna. The children wore outfits inspired by traditional Chinese fashion.

In the carousel, the family posed with traditional paper parasols and climbed into an elaborately decorated cart.

The Great Wall visit was one stop on a wider trip across East Asia. Days earlier, on Sept. 26, Kim was photographed in Shanghai wearing a vintage Dior dress with a mandarin-style collar. Khloé documented the Shanghai leg in an Oct. 1 Instagram post featuring Shanghai Disneyland, robots and local snacks.

The family then traveled to Japan, where Khloé shared photos from teamLab Planets, the immersive digital art museum in Tokyo. She wrote that the family visits every time they go to Tokyo. “Showing our mom was really special,” Khloé added.

The trip carries particular significance for Jenner, who has become an unlikely online phenomenon in China. Young people on Chinese social media platforms such as Douyin and Xiaohongshu have embraced the momager as a digital good-luck charm, using her photo as a profile picture or phone wallpaper in hopes of career and financial success. Chinese influencer Marcelo Wang has attributed her popularity to her reputation as one of America’s hardest-working businesswomen.

Jenner has embraced the trend, responding to one of Wang’s videos with a nod to her famous catchphrase from Keeping Up With the Kardashians: “You’re ALL doing amazing, sweetie!!!!”

Kim reportedly flew to China from Paris, where she had been spending time with her boyfriend, Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton. The couple, who went public with their relationship on social media after first being linked in February, have traveled together frequently since then. After the family trip, Kim cheered Hamilton on at the Singapore Grand Prix on Oct. 11 in a qipao-inspired gown.

The Kardashian-Jenner family is no stranger to international fashion moments. In July 2024, Kim and Khloé wore traditional Indian gowns to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant‘s wedding in Mumbai, which was filmed for their Hulu series The Kardashians.
