Visiting Capital City Male, whether wandering by yourself or taking a Four-Hour Highlights of Male Walking Tour, is a must. Male is home to Sultan Park, built on the destroyed remains of the Royal Palace from the 16th century; the Tsunami Monument, a memorial for the 2004 tsunami victims; and the National Museum of Maldives, containing ancient artifacts from the country’s history.

You can connect with your inner mermaid by going on a snorkeling safari in the beautiful waters. You’ll be surrounded by colorful fish, sea turtles, manta rays and coral reefs in an experience you won’t forget.

Test your water sports skills by renting wakeboards, water skis, and jet skis, or try your hand at kite surfing and windsurfing. Times based on sport range from half an hour to an hour and a half. Regardless, you’ll need a nap on the beach afterward.
