Simone Biles is pushing back against online criticism after some social media users questioned why she was vacationing in Belize just weeks after revealing she had experienced a serious medical emergency. The Olympic gymnast responded to one comment by explaining that the trip has been an important part of her recovery and has helped her appreciate life from a different perspective. 

Earlier this month, Biles shared that she had gone through a frightening health scare that nearly turned fatal, though she has not publicly disclosed what happened. She told fans she is still not ready to discuss the details and has instead been focusing on rest, healing and spending time with loved ones. 

The 29-year-old is widely regarded as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time, with multiple Olympic and World Championship titles to her name. She has also become known for speaking openly about mental health, recovery, and the pressures of being an elite athlete. Many fans have since come to her defense, supporting her decision to prioritize her well-being after such a life-changing experience.
