Lily Collins Shares ‘Postcards’ From Denmark From Family Vacation With Husband Charlie McDowell & Daughter Tove
Lily Collins is giving fans a peek at her latest family getaway.
The Emily in Paris star, 37, shared 14 photos on Instagram on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from a European vacation with her husband, director Charlie McDowell, 43, and their 1-year-old daughter, Tove.
“Postcards from Europe,” Collins captioned the carousel.

Collins didn’t reveal every stop on the trip, but several photos suggest the family spent time in Denmark, a country with deep ties to the couple. They spent much of their 2021 honeymoon in Scandinavia and bought a home in Copenhagen in 2023, a city that has ranked among the world’s most livable.
In one snap, Tove sits atop her father’s shoulders with a Danish flag in the background. The carousel also included a visit to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, a seaside museum north of Copenhagen known for its sculpture park overlooking the Øresund strait.
Other images captured Collins strolling down a cobblestone street, the couple walking together at dusk and the family of three posing for a selfie on a pebble beach.
Tove stole the show, wearing a cardigan personalized with her name in one photo and a daisy-chain crown in another.
One slide featured a collection of watercolor paintings, prompting Collins’ Emily in Paris co-star Ashley Park to comment that her friend’s watercolors were next level.
Five Years Of Marriage
The vacation comes just weeks after Collins and McDowell celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in September.
In a tribute on Instagram, Collins called McDowell her favorite person and best friend and described Tove as their “greatest little blessing.”
“Watching you become a dad and getting to experience this chapter as a family has been one of the greatest joys of my life,” she wrote.
McDowell shared his own anniversary post featuring a photo of Collins and Tove on a teacup ride, praising her as a wife and mother and thanking her for holding their family together.
The couple met in 2019 and went official on Instagram that August, when Collins shared photos of them together in France on the Emily in Paris set. They married in September 2021. Collins has long shared glimpses of their travels, including a favorite spot in Sedona, Arizona, which she said held a special place in her heart after the couple spent much of 2020 on the road.
Life With Tove
Collins and McDowell welcomed Tove via surrogate in January 2025.
“Welcome to the center of our world Tove Jane McDowell,” Collins wrote in the couple’s joint announcement, in which they thanked their surrogate and everyone who helped them become parents.
Tove comes from a famous family on both sides. Collins is the daughter of musician Phil Collins, while McDowell is the son of actors Mary Steenburgen and Malcolm McDowell.
Saying Goodbye To Emily
The trip offers Collins a break before a major career milestone. Emily in Paris, the Netflix hit in which she stars as marketing executive Emily Cooper, is set to conclude with its sixth season. Collins wrapped filming in September. The show’s globe-trotting has drawn attention before, with French President Emmanuel Macron vowing to fight to keep Emily in Paris in Paris after its fifth season ended in Rome.
