Zooey Deschanel shared a scenic photo of her posing on a balcony with Venice sunset in the background on social media.

In the snap, the New Girl alum dressed in a classic black dress with a white lace collar with a layered crystal headband, looking over the Grand Canal from the balcony of a high-up marble building at the St. Regis Venice Hotel in Italy.

“Of course, this is how I always stand on balconies and this photo is, in fact, NOT posed at all,” Deschanel captioned in the post.

The images of the beautiful “City of Water,” also known as ‘the floating city, usually consist of the symbolic crystal blue canals, colorful boats, Gothic-style Renaissance architecture, and the golden sunshine. It has been considered one of the most romantic cities in Europe, and one of the top honeymoon destinations in Italy.

A trip to Venice would not be considered truly complete without exploring its renowned attractions. The city brims with iconic landmarks and historical monuments that can captivate you for hours on end.

Visiting Saint Mark’s Basilica is a perfect way to start your time here. At the most famous landmarks of the city, you can feel a timeless sense of sacredness through the Cathedral’s gold-plated ceilings and beautiful mosaics.

Then, go and take a tour of the Doge’s Palace, which used to be the residence of the Doge of Venice, and is now a museum of Venice’s history and art.

Taking a gondola ride on the canals is a must to experience the romantic vibe of this drifting wonderland. On this traditional wooden boat, you will get a unique perspective on the harmonious city living on the water. If you are lucky, you may experience a gondolier singing a traditional song while passing under the famous Bridge of Signs.

Venice is also a great place to explore by foot, where you will pass numerous restaurants or markets that serve you delicious local cuisine. The city is famous for its seafood and Venetian spritz cocktails, so make sure to try some of the local dishes like fritto misto (mixed fried seafood) or spaghetti al nero di seppia (squid ink spaghetti).
